About Tess

As a child, Tess dreamed of exploring the Nile, climbing Mt. Everest, or becoming an astronaut. She became a writer instead, which turned out to be an adventure of its own. And even if she has never made it to outer space (or even Egypt), she has climbed mountains, flown a Blackhawk helicopter (in a training simulator) and swum in an alligator-infested pond (though not on purpose).

                      Maggie the Devil DogTess grew up in the fog in Northern California, but currently lives in steamy southeast Georgia with her husband and daughter, their sixteen-year-old cat, and Maggie, the devil dog. She has learned to love sweet tea and tries to avoid the alligators.
